Studies in animals have not shown an increased risk of birth defects. There are no adequate studies in pregnant women. It is unknown if caprylic acid passes into breast milk.
Caprylic acid might cause diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Do not take caprylic acid if you have a liver or kidney disease. Take caprylic acid with food to reduce stomach upset.
