Is a light nauseous feeling sign of pregnancy?
Light nausea, also known as morning sickness, is a common early sign of pregnancy. It affects up to 85% of pregnant women and usually begins around the 6th week of pregnancy. Morning sickness is thought to be caused by hormonal changes, particularly an increase in the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Other possible causes include changes in the digestive system and an increased sense of smell.
Nausea during pregnancy can vary in severity from mild to severe. It can occur at any time of the day, not just in the morning. Some women may also experience vomiting along with nausea. Morning sickness typically resolves by the end of the first trimester, but it can sometimes persist for longer.
While light nausea is a common sign of pregnancy, it is not always a reliable indicator. Some women who are pregnant may not experience nausea, while others may have nausea without being pregnant. If you are experiencing light nausea and are unsure if you may be pregnant, it is a good idea to take a pregnancy test or see your doctor for evaluation.
