Umbilical Placenta: Understanding Fetal Development and Connection
Umbilical cord- the term is mostly applied to the structure in higher vertebrates, connecting the embryonic fetus with the placenta of the mother. The embryonic mesoderm extends into that part of the yolk sac that forms the placenta.
