How do you know have strep throat?
There are a few ways to tell if someone has strep throat:
* Symptoms: Common symptoms of strep throat include a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever, swollen lymph nodes, and body aches.
* Physical exam: A doctor can look at your throat and tonsils and see if they are red, swollen, or have white or yellow spots.
* Throat culture: A doctor can take a sample of fluid from your throat and test it for strep bacteria.
If you think you might have strep throat, it is important to see a doctor so they can give you the correct treatment. Antibiotics are the usual treatment for strep throat, and they can help to prevent serious complications, such as rheumatic fever and kidney inflammation.
