Why I chew gum while giving blood?

You should not chew gum while giving blood. There is no benefit to chewing gum while giving blood. In fact, it can be dangerous because while chewing gum your jaw makes a pumping motion which can cause the blood to spurt out if the needle comes out in the middle. So it is always better to lie still and relax while giving blood
