Painless Gum Lump in Child: Causes, Concerns & Next Steps
It is not normal for an 11-year-old boy to have a painless lump on the gum that has been there for 4 weeks and has shrunk even after a course of antibiotics from a dentist who thought it was caused by an abscess. While some swelling and discomfort can be expected during the healing process after an abscess, the persistence and shrinking of the lump warrant further evaluation. It is important to seek a second opinion from a dentist or oral surgeon to determine the cause of the lump and rule out any underlying issues that may require additional treatment.Gum Disease - Related Articles
