Can swallowing gum give you a disease?
Swallowing gum does not cause any diseases. It is not digestible by the human body, and it passes through the digestive system along with other food and waste. Gum can get stuck in the digestive tract, but this is rare and usually only happens in children. If you swallow a large amount of gum, it is possible for it to cause a blockage, but this is very unlikely.Gum Disease - Related Articles
