Understanding Spotting Between Periods: Causes & When to Worry
Spotting between periods
Spotting is light vaginal bleeding that occurs outside of your normal menstrual cycle. It is common and usually not a cause for concern. Spotting can occur at any time during your menstrual cycle, but it most often occurs in the first few days of your period or between periods.
Spotting can be caused by a variety of factors, including:
* hormonal imbalances
* pregnancy,
* stress
* birth control,
* certain medications
* sexually transmitted infection
If you are concerned about spotting, talk to your doctor. They can help determine the cause of the spotting and recommend treatment, if necessary.
Signs of your period
In addition to spotting, there are other signs that your period is coming:
- Feeling tired or achy.
- Having headaches or cramps.
- Feeling bloated.
- Having breast tenderness.
- Having a change in your appetite or sleep habits.
If you experience any of these symptoms, it is possible that your period is coming. However, it is always best to talk to your doctor if you have any concerns about your menstrual cycle.
