Fibula Anatomy: Location, Attachments & Key Relationships
Location (fibula):
- Lateral portion of leg.
Attachments (fibula):
- Proximally – lateral aspect of knee joint via lateral collateral ligament, biceps femoris and popliteus tendons & head of fibula.
- Laterally – fascia of leg & peroneus longus
- Anteriorly – tibialis anterior
- Distally – lateral malleolus.
