Human Vibrio Infection (HVI): Transmission & Risks
HVI (human vibriosis) is typically transmitted through the consumption of raw or undercooked seafood, particularly shellfish, such as oysters, clams, and mussels. These seafood items can be contaminated with Vibrio bacteria, which can cause HVI. Vibrio bacteria are naturally present in marine and estuarine environments, and they can multiply rapidly under certain conditions, such as when the water is warm. Eating raw or undercooked seafood that has been contaminated with Vibrio bacteria can lead to HVI infection.Cavities - Related Articles
