Intelect Transport Light Therapy: Overview & Availability
Intelect Transport Light Therapy is a series of medical devices developed by Chattanooga Group, a manufacturer of rehabilitation equipment, for treating various physical disorders. The manufacturer has discontinued the Intelect Transport Light Therapy range, but it is still in stock at several medical suppliers.-
Function
-
Intelect Transport Light Therapy devices use laser energy to increase localized blood circulation, thereby regenerating tissue and providing patients with pain relief. These devices are used to treat minor joint aches, relax muscles and temporarily relieve pain associated with arthritis.
Significance
-
Treatment with Intelect Transport Light Therapy is drug-free, non-invasive and does not include pads or gels that can trigger allergies or skin problems. It is therefore accessible to patients who are excluded from conventional medicinal treatment because of pregnancy, allergies or substance intolerance.
Considerations
-
As of December 2010, Intelect Transport Light Therapy devices cost between $2,000 and $3,000, and most products in the range are available only to clinics or by prescription. Even though the therapy is non-invasive and has few side effects, the use of lasers can damage the eyes and treatment should be applied only by trained personnel, and with the use of goggles.
