DIY Rice Heat Pad: Easy Homemade Comfort for Aches & Pains
Rice-filled heating pads can be used to ease muscle cramps, menstrual pain and even provide comfort for a sick or injured animal. Using just a few household items, you can create an inexpensive, reusable heating pad. This homemade heating pad can be used for a few hours, but repeated reheating in one day can be a potential fire hazard. Make a few rice-filled heating pads so you can trade them out instead of reheating the same one.Things You'll Need
- Cotton tube socks
- 3 cups long-grain rice
- Rubber bands or elastic ties
- Microwave
Instructions
Fill each tube sock with 3 cups of long-grain rice.
Secure the open end of the sock with a sturdy rubber band or elastic tie.
Microwave the sock for about a minute and a half, but no more than two minutes.
