Newborn DNA Testing: Timing, Consent & Legal Considerations
A DNA test can be performed on a baby shortly after birth. There is no specific waiting period required prior to performing a DNA test, as the baby's DNA remains constant after conception.
However, for certain legal purposes, obtaining medical consent may require the baby to reach a certain age. As with any legal matters, it is advisable to consult relevant laws and seek legal advice as applicable.
