Hemoglobin (Hb) Testing: Why the Fingertip is Preferred
The ring finger is not typically used for hemoglobin (Hb) testing. The most common site for Hb testing is the fingertip, as it provides a readily accessible capillary blood source. The ring finger is not preferred because it is relatively immobile and may be more difficult to obtain a sufficient blood sample.
