Nosebleed First Aid: What to Do and What to Avoid
* Do not tilt your head back. This can cause the blood to flow down your throat and into your stomach, which can lead to nausea and vomiting.* Do not blow your nose. This can increase the bleeding.
* Apply pressure to the nostrils. Use your thumb and forefinger to pinch your nostrils together firmly for 10-15 minutes.
* If the bleeding does not stop after 15 minutes, seek medical attention.
