How can you stop worrying about having a seizure?
Focus on what you can control. While you may not be able to control when or if you have a seizure, there are things you can do to reduce your risk and manage your condition. These include:- Taking your medication as prescribed
- Avoiding triggers that may cause seizures
- Getting enough sleep
- Eating a healthy diet
- Exercising regularly
- Managing stress
- Wearing a medical alert bracelet or necklace
Find support. Talking to other people who have epilepsy can help you feel less alone and learn from their experiences. There are many support groups available both online and in person. You can also find support from family and friends.
Be patient. It takes time to adjust to having epilepsy. There will be ups and downs, but don't give up. With the right treatment and support, you can live a full and happy life.
