Strep Carrier: Understanding Carriers and Transmission
A strep carrier is a person who carries the Streptococcus bacteria but does not show any symptoms of strep throat. These individuals may still be able to spread the bacteria to others, making them a source of infection. Strep carriers may have the bacteria in their throat or on their skin, and they can spread it through close contact, such as coughing, sneezing, or sharing food or drink. It is important for strep carriers to take precautions to prevent spreading the infection to others, such as practicing good hygiene and avoiding close contact with people who are at risk of developing complications from strep throat, such as young children, the elderly, or those with weakened immune systems.PPOs - Related Articles
