Do Some states consider it legal for medical assistant to diagnose a condition and prescribe treatment?

In most states, a medical assistant cannot diagnose or prescribe treatment. These tasks fall within the duties specifically allowed for Nurse Practioners or Physicians who are licensed to do so.
