Addressing Envelopes to Multiple Doctors in One Household: Best Practices
When writing the address on an envelope to two physicians living in the same household, there are a couple of acceptable formats.
Addressing the envelope using full names:
Dr. John Smith
Dr. Jane Doe
123 Main Street
Anytown, CA 12345
Addressing the envelope using a shared title and last name:
Drs. Smith-Doe
123 Main Street
Anytown, CA 12345
Addressing the envelope using a shared title, first name, and last initial:
Drs. John S. and Jane D.
123 Main Street
Anytown, CA 12345
It's important to clearly indicate that both individuals are medical doctors by using the appropriate titles. If there are any additional designations, such as "M.D." or "Ph.D.," they can be included after the names or initials.
