Pride Jet 1 Tire Size Guide: Front, Middle & Rear

Made by Pride Mobility Products Corp., the Jet 1 power wheelchair has six wheels to increase maneuverability and offer a tight turning radius. The wheels are at the chair's front, middle and rear and are in three tire sizes.

Front Tires

• The Jet 1's two front wheels, known as anti-tip wheels, increase the power wheelchair's stability on rough surfaces. Their tires measure 6 inches in diameter and are preset to factory standards of 3/4 inch from the ground.

Middle Tires

• The two middle wheels, or driver wheels, are the main wheels that give the power wheelchair its mobility. Their tires are 14 inches in diameter.

Rear Tires

• The two rear wheels, which are known as rear casters, assist the power wheelchair with stability during turns. Their tires are 8 inches in diameter.

Other Specifications

• The Jet 1's maximum speed is 4.5 mph. It weighs 250 lbs., is 38 1/2 inches long and is 23 inches wide. It is available in two colors and is only one of several power wheelchair models manufactured by Pride Mobility Products.
