Easy Homemade Refrigerator Pickles Recipe | Simple & Delicious
Pickles taste delicious on a deli sandwich, in salads and with other dishes. Making refrigerator pickles is a cost friendly alternative to buying jarred ones from grocery stores. Using minimal ingredients and materials, making pickles is easy and lets you experiment with different recipes to create your own signature flavors.Things You'll Need
- 2 lbs. fresh, small, cleaned cucumbers
- Canning jars with lids
- 1 gallon white vinegar
- 1 gallon distilled water
- 1 cup fresh, chopped dill
- 1/4 cup chopped garlic
- 1 red chili pepper, sliced
- 1/4 cup salt
- 1/8 cup whole peppercorns
- Stockpot
Instructions
Pour the vinegar, water, dill, garlic and salt in to a large stockpot.
Add the fresh cucumbers, chili pepper and peppercorns to the canning jars. Slice the cucumbers if you prefer. Otherwise, leave them whole.
Bring the stockpot containing the water and vinegar mixture to a rolling boil for five minutes.
Pour the water mixture into the jar of cucumbers.
Secure the lids onto the canning jars. Let cool for six hours before storing in your refrigerator. Pickles will last six weeks.
