Scabies: Understanding Mite Infestation and Symptoms

Scabies are caused by tiny mites called Sarcoptes scabiei. These mites burrow under the skin, where they live and lay their eggs. People become infested with scabies by coming into close contact with an infected person or by sharing contaminated clothing or bedding.
