Monorchidism in Dogs: Fertility, Breeding & Considerations
A monorchid is a male animal that has only one descended testicle (as opposed to a cryptorchid who retains 2 undescended testicles), which may be located either abdominally, or inguinally (along the inguinal canal, in the flank).[1] It also results when castration is attempted and only one testicle was removed. Most of them are fertile.[2] Monorchid animals should only be used for breeding by artificial insemination.[2] If the testicle remains inside the abdominal cavity, fertility declines over timeTesticular Cancer - Related Articles
