How big is the stomache?
The average adult stomach can hold about 1.5 to 2 liters (about 50 to 67 fluid ounces) of food and liquid at any given time. However, the stomach is a muscular organ and can stretch to accommodate more food if needed. For example, some people can eat up to 4 liters (about 1 gallon) of food in a single meal. The stomach also secretes acids and enzymes that help break down food into a form that the body can absorb.Gastric Cancer - Related Articles
