Does it make sense that the hospital would do a ct abdomen and pelvis transvaginal ultrasound to diagnose an ovarian cyst?
It does not make sense to perform a transvaginal ultrasound and CT abdomen and pelvis together for the diagnosis of an ovarian cyst. A transvaginal ultrasound is generally sufficient for the initial diagnosis and evaluation of an ovarian cyst. If further evaluation or confirmation is needed, a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis may be ordered separately as a complementary imaging modality.Ovarian Cancer - Related Articles
