Ovaries: The Female Reproductive Organ That Produces Eggs

The ovaries are two almond-shaped organs located in the female pelvis, one on each side of the uterus. They are responsible for producing ova, or eggs, which are the female reproductive cells. The ovaries also produce hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, which are important for regulating the menstrual cycle and pregnancy.
