Understanding High-Density Objects on Ultrasound Images

In an ultrasound, very high-density objects appear as areas with very bright echoes. This is because the high density of the object causes more of the ultrasound waves to be reflected back to the transducer, resulting in a stronger echo. This can be seen in the case of bones, which appear as bright white areas in an ultrasound image due to their very high density.
