Impalement Injury First Aid: Do NOT Remove the Object

NEVER remove an impaled object. It may be tamponading bleeding; removal can cause catastrophic hemorrhage.

Correct action: Stabilize the object in place with bulky dressings (e.g., rolled gauze) to prevent movement. Secure without pressure on the object itself. Activate EMS immediately. Surgical removal in a controlled setting minimizes further tissue and vascular damage.
