Why is the healthy BMI range different for each age group?
The healthy Body Mass Index (BMI) range does not differ for each age group. The standard BMI range is the same for all adults aged 20 and over, regardless of age. The BMI range is classified as follows:
- Below 18.5: Underweight
- 18.5 - 24.9: Normal weight
- 25.0 - 29.9: Overweight
- 30.0 and above: Obese
It's important to note that BMI is just one factor used to assess overall health and should be considered along with other factors such as muscle mass, body composition, and overall health status.
