Gestational Sac Only at 4-5 Weeks: What to Expect & When to Worry

At 4-5 weeks of pregnancy, it is common to see only a gestational sac on an ultrasound. The fetal pole typically develops by 5-6 weeks. If a fetal pole is not visible on an ultrasound at 5 weeks, it does not necessarily mean there is a problem. Your doctor may recommend a follow-up ultrasound in a few weeks to monitor the development of the pregnancy.
