Can you tell paternity while pregnant?
It is not possible to definitively determine paternity while pregnant. However, there are some methods that can be used to estimate paternity before birth. These methods include:
chorionic villus sampling (CVS): This test is performed between 10 and 13 weeks of pregnancy. A small sample of cells is taken from the placenta and tested for paternity.
amniocentesis: This test is performed between 15 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. A small amount of amniotic fluid is taken from the amniotic sac and tested for paternity.
blood test: A blood test can be performed on the mother and the alleged father to determine paternity. This test is usually performed after the baby is born, but it can also be performed during pregnancy.
While these tests can provide an estimated paternity, they are not 100% accurate. In some cases, a paternity test may not be able to determine paternity until after the baby is born.
