Usana Vitamins & Pregnancy: Safety Guide for Expectant Mothers
While most Usana vitamins are considered safe during pregnancy, there are a few products that should be avoided.
- MagneCal D: Taking the recommended 3 tablets per day of MagneCal D will lead to 200% more elemental calcium than recommended for pregnant women.
- MagneCal Plus: MagneCal Plus consists of 1000 IU vitamin D, which slightly exceeds the recommended 600 IU daily dose for pregnant women.
- Procosa: Although Procosa is primarily made of iron and vitamin C, it also contains black currant seed oil. Black currant seed oil is not typically included in prenatal vitamins and its effects on pregnancy have not been well-studied.
_It is recommended that you consult with your doctor before taking any supplements during pregnancy._
