You can hear placenta but not heartbeat 13 weeks pregnant?
At around week 13 of pregnancy, it may still be too early to consistently hear the baby's heartbeat with a fetal Doppler. The earliest it may be possible to hear the heartbeat is around 8-12 weeks, but it can be difficult to detect before 12 weeks. At 13 weeks, it's more common to be able to hear the baby's heartbeat, but positioning, placenta location, and other factors can affect how easy or difficult it is to find.
You may be able to hear the sound of the placenta, which sounds like a whooshing sound. The heartbeat might be harder to distinguish as it may sound faint and quick and you may confuse it with your own heartbeat.
If you are concerned about not hearing the heartbeat or placenta at 13 weeks, it's best to consult your healthcare provider. They may recommend additional tests or refer you for an ultrasound to confirm everything is progressing normally.
