6 Weeks Pregnant & No Heartbeat? Understanding Early Pregnancy Scans
At 6 weeks of pregnancy, it is possible that a heartbeat may not be visible on an ultrasound. This does not necessarily indicate a problem, as the embryo is still very small and the heartbeat may be difficult to detect. However, it is important to note that the absence of a heartbeat at this stage can also be a sign of a missed miscarriage or other pregnancy complications.
To determine if everything is progressing normally, your doctor may recommend a follow-up ultrasound in a week or two to check for the presence of a heartbeat. Additional blood tests may also be ordered to monitor hormone levels and assess the health of the pregnancy.
It is important to remember that every pregnancy is different and progresses at its own pace. If you have any concerns or questions about your pregnancy, it is always best to speak with your doctor.
