Pregnancy Contractions: When to Seek Immediate Medical Attention
You may need to go to the hospital when having pregnancy contractions if:- Contractions are 5 minutes apart and last about 1 minute long for 1 hour.
- Your water has broken.
- You have any of the following symptoms:
- Severe abdominal pain
- Vaginal bleeding
- Dizziness or fainting
- Headache
- Blurred vision
- If you call your doctor or midwife they will likely have additional instructions regarding when you should go to the hospital.
