Early Pregnancy Signs: When Can You Take a Test?

Most home pregnancy tests are designed to be used at least 1 week after the expected period (amenorrhea).

A blood test can detect the presence of the pregnancy hormone (human chorionic gonadotropin, hCG) as early as 10-14 days after conception, which is equivalent to 1-2 weeks after ovulation.
