Lortab & Pregnancy: Risks and Safety Information
Lortab is a prescription pain reliever that contains hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid and acetaminophen is a non-opioid pain reliever. Lortab is used to relieve moderate to severe pain, such as pain following surgery, injury, and childbirth.
Hydrocodone is a Schedule II controlled substance and has a high potential for abuse and addiction. It’s not recommended take this medication after the first trimester because it's a class C medication. This category means animal studies or human experience show risk during pregnancy but potential benefits may justify use despite potential risks.
