Taylor Scales: Setup & Calibration Guide for Accurate Weight Tracking
Measuring your progress as you get into shape is a complicated affair, but a good bathroom scale is a great place to start. Taylor Precision Products sells a wide variety of digital and analog scales for home use and managing your weight. While Taylor does sell a range of analog scales, many people prefer a digital scale for a variety of reasons, such as accuracy and readability. Unlike an analog scale, you will need to set up and calibrate your digital scale. However, the process is quick and easy.
Instructions
Turn over your Taylor scale and open up the battery compartment. If your scale is powered by normal batteries, make sure that they have been inserted properly. A new Taylor scale should come with batteries pre-installed. If it is powered by a built-in lithium battery, remove the plastic shipping strip underneath the battery before using the scale.
Set the scale down on a hard, flat surface, such as hardwood or tile. The scale will not calibrate correctly if placed on a soft or uneven surface.
Place your foot on the scale and press down. You only have to apply enough pressure to make the display turn on. The display will light up, at which point you can remove your foot. Wait for the display to turn off, which should only take a few seconds.
Step on the scale with both feet. Stand still until the scale gives a reading.
