How to Lose Weight With an Untreated Thyroid
An untreated thyroid is a condition affecting the thyroid hormone, which runs your body's metabolism. This can be "hyperthyroidism," a state caused by overproduction of the thyroid hormone---symptoms include weight loss, increased heartbeat, sweating and trembling hands. The opposite condition is "hypothyroidism," when the body produces an insufficient amount of this hormone. This can provoke symptoms of a slow metabolism, such as weight gain even with a decreased appetite and constant fatigue. It is risky to allow your thyroid problem to go untreated, but still possible to lose weight using basic principles of weight loss.
Instructions
Make fruits and vegetables your staple food. Make sure you have a piece of fruit at every meal and that fresh vegetables constitute two-thirds of your meal portions. Avoid fruit juices, as, more often than not, they have a great deal of added sugar and aren't filling.
Drink at least 2 liters of water per day. Water flushes out toxins, helps keep bowel movements regular and clears your skin. Buy a water bottle that you like and bring it everywhere.
Exercise every day. You don't have to go to the gym per se, but you must commit to 30 minutes of exercise every single day: bike riding, running, skating, swimming or walking.
