Rapid Weight Loss: Understanding Short-Term Weight Loss Strategies
How can you lose 17 lbs. in a week? Most would say it's impossible to lose that amount of weight by adhering to a healthy diet and exercise regime. That's true. However, if you are significantly overweight and want to be encouraged by significant weight loss in a short period of time, a modified fast can work, although this type of stringent regime is not recommended for more than 7 to 10 days.According to calorielab.com, the Master Cleanse was originally developed in 1940 by health practitioner Stanley Burroughs as a stomach ulcer cure. Burroughs also promoted the diet for weight loss and the remedy for a host of diseases.
Things You'll Need

- Organic cayenne chili pepper
- Decaffeinated herbal laxative tea

Squeeze enough lemon to make 2 tbs. of lemon juice (about half a lemon). Add the lemon juice to 10 oz. of distilled water
Add 1/10 tsp. of cayenne chili pepper and 2 tbs. of grade B maple syrup to the lemon juice. Drink 6 to 12 glasses per day. For maximum weight loss, drink only six glasses of the mixture.
