Understanding the Relationship Between Bronchi and Alveoli

The bronchi and alveoli are not close together. The bronchi are the large airways that carry air to and from the lungs. The alveoli are the tiny air sacs in the lungs where gas exchange occurs. The bronchi and alveoli are connected by a network of smaller airways called bronchioles. The bronchioles lead from the bronchi to the alveoli.
