Effective Ways to Relieve Toothache Pain – Temporary Relief & What to Do
Toothaches can have many causes including tooth decay, cavities, and impacted teeth. While toothaches are painful, the cause is what will need to be treated in order to eradicate the pain completely. If you are unable to see a dentist right away, there are steps you can take to help reduce the toothache temporarily.Things You'll Need
- Floss Toothbrush Toothpaste Aspirin or other pain reliever Teething gel
Instructions
Rinse your mouth out with warm water, swishing it around on the side where you feel the ache.
Brush your teeth with toothpaste and floss between the teeth. Food particles caught in teeth can aggravate the pain, especially if there is a cavity.
Take some aspirin or other over the counter pain medication such as ibuprofen. Follow the package directions and do not take more than advised.
Apply an over the counter tooth pain gel to the gums around the painful tooth. Baby teething gel or gels made for adult tooth pain can be used. Follow the package directions for the specific product you choose.
