Epstein Pearls: Causes, Symptoms & What to Expect
Epstein pearls are small, white or yellowish bumps that can appear on the roof of a newborn's mouth or on their palate. They are also sometimes called Bohn's nodules.
Epstein pearls are caused by the remnants of the epithelial lining of the mouth that were present during fetal development. These remnants are usually reabsorbed before birth, but in some cases they can persist and form Epstein pearls.
Epstein pearls are harmless and do not require any treatment. They will usually disappear on their own within a few weeks or months.
