How long does it take for a toothbrush to decompose?
Toothbrushes can be made from a variety of materials, including plastic, nylon, and wood. The decomposition time for each material varies, but in general, plastic toothbrushes can take hundreds of years to decompose. Nylon toothbrushes can take up to 50 years, while wooden toothbrushes can decompose in as little as two years.
To reduce the environmental impact of toothbrushes, consider choosing a biodegradable toothbrush made from bamboo or other plant materials. These toothbrushes will decompose much more quickly than plastic toothbrushes, helping to reduce the amount of waste in our oceans and landfills.
