Master the Rolling Stroke: A Simple Toothbrushing Technique
Good brushing technique is essential if you wish to keep your teeth for a lifetime. There are actually five major methods for brushing teeth: the Bass method, Charter's method, the modified Stillman's method, Fone's method and the rolling stroke method. The rolling stroke method is a simple technique usually taught to children in preparation for other methods, but it can be a part of anyone's complete dental care routine.Things You'll Need
- Cup
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Water
Instructions
Fill a cup with cool drinking water.
Rinse the toothbrush under the tap to remove all debris and old toothpaste.
Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the tips of the brush bristles.
Hold the toothbrush with the bristles pointing at the roots of your teeth.
Repeatedly roll the bristles toward the chewing surfaces, lightly scrubbing the tooth faces and digging debris from between the teeth. Work on two or three teeth at a time, until all the inner and outer tooth surfaces have been cleaned.
Swirl cool drinking water around your mouth to rinse it clean. Spit.
