Effective Ways to Remove Denture Adhesive Residue
Denture adhesive comes in cream or powder form and holds dentures in place on the gums. When dentures are removed, leftover adhesive can remain around the gums and roof of the mouth, as well as on the dentures itself. Getting rid of this residue from your mouth will help maintain proper oral health and requires only hot water and a washcloth or soft toothbrush.Things You'll Need
- Hot water
- Salt
- Washcloth or soft toothbrush
Instructions
Swish your mouth with the hottest water you can tolerate after removing your dentures. Hot salt water can be used.
Use a soft toothbrush or washcloth to gently scrub away any leftover adhesive on the gums and roof of the mouth.
Repeat steps. Continue to swish your mouth with water and scrubbing away adhesive as necessary until all of the cream and powder residue is gone.
