Walter Industries & Asbestos: History and Legal Implications
Walter Industries is a family of companies involved in energy and construction materials, including cement, concrete, aggregates and asphalt, and wallboard, the latter including asbestos. Their wallboard division was sold in 2007 to an investment group. Walter Industries used asbestos in its wallboard products until asbestos was banned for such uses in 1990.
