Swimming with a Tampon: Absorption & Protection Explained

A tampon inserted for menstrual protection will absorb water when swimming; however, the tampon will still protect against menstrual fluid when swimming. Tampons are designed to be absorbent, and they will expand to fit the user's body. When a woman swims with a tampon, the tampon will absorb the water around it, but the tampon will not dislodge.
