Tampons and the Hymen: Separating Fact from Fiction
Using tampons will not deflower you. The hymen, which is a thin membrane that partially covers the opening of the vagina, can be broken by a variety of activities including sports, accidents or during childbirth. It does not necessarily break during sexual intercourse.
