Order of Baby Teeth
Your baby will get 20 primary teeth over the course of about three years. As in other areas of baby development, tooth eruption can vary from child to child with no ill effects.-
Six to 10 Months
-
The two lower front teeth usually appear when a baby is 6 to 10 months old. Baby teeth often erupt in pairs.
Eight to 13 Months
-
The two upper front teeth and the two incisors that flank them usually appear next.
10 to 16 Months
-
Two more incisors will flank the lower two teeth. Then the first back teeth, first-year molars, erupt on both sides of the upper and lower gums.
16 to 23 Months
-
The upper and lower canines, pointed side teeth, come in to fill the gaps between the first-year molars and the incisors.
23 to 33 Months
-
Next the upper and lower gums get their second-year molars, the last of the baby teeth. On average, children begin losing their baby teeth around age 6.
